Why donate?

Skate Haven CIC is a not-for-profit organisation that currently relies heavily on donations.

By virtue of being a community interest company (CIC), we operate as a non-profit which uses its funds exclusively for its community-oriented purpose. Our accounts are publicised on the Companies House website (company # 13866318) annually, and our activities are subject to public scrutiny through annual budgetary reports.

Skate Haven is a CIC ‘limited by guarantee’ which means that the company has no share capital and the owners cannot be paid dividends from the company’s assets. Skate Haven’s assets are thus effectively ‘locked’ and cannot be used in the same way that a company might use them. This is to ensure donors that their money is going toward the company’s cause rather than into the owners’ pockets. In the event of dissolution, Skate Haven CIC’s assets will be transferred to another asset locked body. Skate Haven CIC strives to provide its services free of charge to social support services as much as possible. Any donation, no matter the size, is highly appreciated. If you want to support us, donating money is a direct way to do that. If you are not in the position to donate but still want to support us, consider contacting us and we can work out a suitable volunteering position.
